Before the election, Zhang suggested that the position should be left to younger candidates because of his advanced years and worsening health. Quinn Morgan, who is working his first season on a dairy farm was awarded this years Ahuwhenua Young Māori Farmer Award at a gala dinner in New Plymouth on Friday.
